Meet Dr. Schallhorn

Dr. Steve Schallhorn understands the importance of clear vision after his time as a Topgun pilot, U. S. Navy Captain and decorated ophthalmologist in San Diego. He has performed a number of vision correction procedures on our nation’s greatest assets in the U. S. Armed Forces, and aims to apply the same level of care to each eye surgery he performs in the civilian sector.

While Dr. Schallhorn’s practice is open to all, he specializes in Performance Vision by providing our modern day heroes, such as first responders, firefighters, and pilots, with the precise, high-definition vision correction those members of our first line of defense need to complete their jobs at the optimum level.

Dr. Schallhorn drove the approval of LASIK for NASA. Astronauts face unique challenges when it comes to wearing contacts and eyeglasses in outer space.

Dr. Schallhorn has been part of the original LASIK trials and ultimate approval of the procedure for military flight pilots and NASA. He truly believes the drive to help others, and the desire for an adventurous lifestyle shouldn’t be affected by the need for vision correction, especially when he is able to provide seamless results and high performance vision. Supplemented by the latest advancements in refractive laser vision correction, Dr. Schallhorn’s pursuit of better vision is further supported by his extensive experience and knowledge, and his consistent pursuit of safety and precision with each and every laser eye surgery performed.
